Some questions (and answers) about AlphaClone Mirror Portfolios

Our belief that both active and passive strategies belong in a portfolio is perhaps the main differentiator against automated investment services that stick to passive strategies exclusively. When we construct an AlphaClone Mirror Portfolio, we’ll allocate to both passive and higher active-share ETFs and/or mutual funds in each allocation (e.g., equities, fixed income).

Investment account clients who custody at Folio Investments do not pay any trading commissions. Instead they pay an annual fee charged quarterly based on the amount of assets in their account (or across all their accounts if they have more than one account).

The table below summarizes our account management fees:

For Amounts Annual Fee (charged quarterly)
First $100,000 0.25%
Next $100,001 to $250,000 0.20%
Next $250,001 to $500,000 0.15%
Next $500,001 to $1,000,000 0.10%
Over $1,000,000 0.05%
Other fees charged by our Custodians may apply.

Yes. Where appropriate, we use our affiliated ETFs as the high active-share component for equity allocations. We believe our active indexing methodology is a more efficient way to access active investment ideas over time. It’s also important to note that when we use our affiliated funds, we receive an asset-based annual fee over and above the account management service fee outlined in the previous question.
